Celebrate World Fair Trade Day in Manitoba this Saturday

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights - 85 Israel Asper Way

Stop by ERA Bistro between 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. to enjoy a cup of fair trade coffee and tickle your taste buds with a special menu accented with fair trade spices.

ERA will also have a selection of coffee and spices for sale, and fair trade roses to brighten up your day! Proceeds will be donated by Florists Supply Ltd. to help build a playground in Sri Lanka.

Manitoba’s Largest Fair Trade Brownie

The Fresh Carrot - 230 Osborne Street at Donald Street

Swing by Canada’s first Fair Trade-certified Workplace, The Fresh Carrot, to stock up on all your favourite fair trade brands and help devour their record-breaking brownie! The store will have specials on fair trade products, beautiful fair trade roses from Latacunga, Ecuador, and even fair trade sports balls. For every ball purchased, a second will be donated to a non-profit!

And did we mention the delicious, free, gigantic fair trade brownie? Make Manitoba history and show your support for cocoa farmers around the world by eating this chocolaty treat!

This Saturday, when you spend $20 or more on one of Ten Thousand Villages artisan-crafted items, you’ll be rewarded with a thank you gift for your commitment to supporting fair trade. To celebrate World Fair Trade Day, when you spend $25 or more you’ll receive a free package of fair trade coffee – perfect for brewing and sharing with friends during the World’s Largest Fair Trade Coffee Break! While you browse, treat your skin with samples of Fable Naturals and your taste buds with samples of fair trade dried fruit, chocolate, tea and coffee.

Shoppers can also enter a draw to win a gift basket stuffed with fair trade products.

Fresh baking from Sam’s Place will be on sale from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
