Fair Trade Leaders
Fair Trade Manitoba recognizes groups and organizations that have fair trade purchasing policies – not only for one month, but as an ongoing element of their operations.
If your Manitoba-based organization has adopted a fair trade purchasing policy, please contact us and we will gladly add you to the list. We hope it grows by leaps and bounds!

Municipality of Gimli
Gimli has been officially recognized as Manitoba’s first Fair Trade Town. TransFair Canada, the national fair trade certification organization, bases its recognition of Fair Trade Towns several criteria, such as a resolution being passed by the local political authority, the number of stores and cafes serving and selling fair trade products, and the establishment of a local fair trade committee to monitor adherence to and growth of fair trade in the community. Gimli is only the sixth town in Canada to be officially declared Fair Trade.
